Candy Cane Kiss Cookies

This recipe is all about the sugar, spice & everything nice… when I originally started playing with these I wanted them to be just as bright in flavor as they were to look at, and I think I accomplished just that…

1 Pkg Betty Crocker Sugar Cookie Mix  (you can also use a traditional recipe like found here )

1 egg

1 C. real butter

1/2 t. peppermint extract

Christmas red food coloring

Christmas red colored sugar

1 Bag Hershey’s Candy Cane Kisses

Mix the ingredients as explained on the package (egg-butter-mix), followed by peppermint extract & coloring ( slowly adding the color until desired hue)   Using a 1/4 cookie scoop then slicing each ball in half, shape into balls and roll in Christmas red colored sugar.  Bake at 350 degrees for 9 minutes.  Unwrap your Hershey’s Candy Cane Kisses while your cookies are baking and top as soon as you take them out of the oven.

As mentioned above if you’d like to create the dough from scratch this is always my go to recipe… but if your like me and both crazy busy and on a budget during the holidays $2.00 for a pre-made mix is worth far more than purchasing all the ingredients and the time to measure them all out…  Hope you enjoy these as much as my family has and that you all are enjoying this holiday season as much as I am!!!    -Merry Christmas  🙂    –Eliza
